Nordic Walking Park “Białowieża” ROUTE 4 – Exploring Białowieża (black trail)

The longest of the routes forming the Nordic Walking  Park “Białowieża”. A loop of over 10 kilometres marked with black. The first 3 km run along the same way as the green route. At the board with exercises the routes separate, to merge again after next 4 kilometres. At the 5.5 km we reach a border of Białowieża National Park. This way we can observe the flora and fauna of Białowieża National Park during over 2 km of our march. At this stretch we will pass “Dziedzinka” forest lodge, where for over 3 decades Professor Simona Kossak lived and worked. We will also reach a national memorial. The obelisk, individual graves and crosses bear witness to suffering of local people at the hands of the Nazis. We leave the Białowieża National Park on the right and leave the forest, turning towards Białowieża buildings. Walking along a short stretch of a tarmac road with street lights we reach Białowieża Forest District. Clear, aesthetic and informative educational boards installed at the impressing gate will supplement our knowledge about Białowieża Forest. After walking for several minutes we close the 10.6 km loop at the forest car park. We perform stretching exercises and end the walk.
