Białowieża National Park is a place of a special significance to many lovers of nature. Each visitor to Białowieża Forest can count on experiencing the nature amongst rare species of fauna, flora and mycobiota. The icon of Białowieża National Park is the bison – the largest land mammal in Europe, which local wild herd is one of the largest in the world. The Park offers numerous attractions, starting with numerous trails (footpaths and biking trails) and ending with observing forest animals at the Demonstration Bison Reserve. Natural scientists and tourists from all over the world are mainly attracted by the nature, protected for nearly 100 years in the area of strict protection in the Park.
