Appearance: grey upperparts, beige belly, black head with white cheeks and white patch on nape.
Small, mainly sedentary tit of coniferous or mixed/broadleaved forest across Poland. Common breeder in north and in mountains, elsewhere not too abundant. Usually nests in tree-holes at heights no more than 2 m above ground; also nestboxes. Some pairs manage 2 broods a year, a few even 3. Diet of seeds and fruits. Appears at feeders only rarely.
